Charitable Giving

With each run, the Southern Railroad Theatre Company selects a charity and donates a portion of our ticket sales to benefit that charity.

This year, we have chosen to support:

Lucky's Story: Lucky is being adopted by Monica and Michael's brother (AD Air Force) and sister-in-law (also AD AF) who had been thinking about getting another dog. When they saw the story of Diva and Operation K2 they said what a wonderful way to celebrate their efforts than to give one of those puppies a home. They are both from California, but are currently stationed at Nellis AFB, Nevada.

"Lucky was given her name because Michael brought her back to life...literally. Two of the puppies had been smothered by Diva when she laid on them. One didn't make it but Michael picked up Lucky and started rubbing her little chest (kind of like in the 101 Dalmations movie). He said her little tongue was blue and everything but when he started rubbing her he felt her warming up and then she started breathing and moving. It couldn't be more perfect that the dog he truly saved is staying within the family."

From San Francisco Suicide Prevention Executive Director:

Hello Susan and Diana --

How wonderful this is -- the audience and the staff ALL pitched in for us!!  That means a lot to everyone here -- please let all the people who were part of this know that!  There was a time when no one would have done this -- or even mentioned us in public.  So happy that we can be part of something as wonderful as your theater company, which is a rolling miracle of its own!

It's great to have you in our family of donors!

What is Rocket Dog Rescue?

Rocket Dog Rescue is a San Francisco Bay Area dog rescue organization run by a group of dedicated volunteers. We save dogs from death at over-crowded shelters and find them loving, happy homes. Now into our tenth year, RDR is stronger than ever, and has saved the lives of over 6,000 animals.

Are you looking to adopt a dog in the San Francisco Bay Area? Look no further!

Susan Jackson as "Marion" and Rocky as "Precious"

Precious (also known as Rocky) was a Rocket Dog fostered by Angela.  Proceeds from opening night's show (and anything in the jar) will go to support this loving and wonderful rescue project.
