In 1865, General Sherman's destructive march on the South bypassed the Camaan plantation. The courageous slave girl Posey wants to know why she wasn't freed. Her master, Doctor John Camaan, has arranged for her to have this meeting with his wife, Bess. 
Then, in 1929 a mature Posey relates the story to her grandson Malachi.

In part one, Jenny Safrit tracked down and murdered the waitress girlfriend of her ex-husband. Now, declared unfit to stand trail, she finds herself in a California State Mental Facility where she's haunted by the ghost of the woman whose life she took while forced to "share" in group.
